One of seven cast members in the 25th season of MTV's "The Real World" could be from Morgantown.
Casting directors for the long-running reality show will be holding a casting session at Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill. Tuesday, April 13 on High Street. The session will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to a press release, producers of the show are looking for those aged between 18 through 24. Those who do attend should bring a recent picture of themselves and picture ID. The picture will not be returned.
The show takes seven similarly aged people from across America and films them living in a house for five months.
"We look for characters from real life; people with strong personalities who are unafraid to speak their minds," said Jonathon Murray, executive producer of "The Real World" in a release.
Though everyone is able to audition, the show has some idea of the contestants it wants for the season.
"It's important to us that The Real World reflects the diversity of the general population. This season we'd love to include a person who is physically challenged, an individual struggling with weight issues, someone who has been affected by a natural disaster, a cast member who is a product of home or alternative schooling, a follower of a non-mainstream religion or belief system, an elite athlete, a recent graduate affected by the economic downturn, someone who is involved with goth, emo, or punk subculture, a member of a pro-abstinence organization, a young widow/widower, and an individual who wants to bring the spotlight of The Real World to a cause, condition, or social issue they care deeply about or are personally affected by."
Applications for the season will be accepted via e-mail for those unable to attend. Visit www.bunim-murray.com for more information.
