In 100 days, smoking will be banned in every bar, restaurant and workplace in Morgantown.
City Council unanimously approved the ban Tuesday night but voted to delay its implementation.
The Dominion Post reports that gives the city time to work with the Monongalia County Board of Health on a similar countywide law.
Councilman Ron Bane says it would confuse people if the city passed a ban and the county did not.
Under the ordinance, smoking is limited to private homes, only 25 percent of hotel and motel rooms, and bingo operations that distribute more than 100 cards.
Business owner Lou Scotchel warns that some companies may move outside city limits to avoid the ban.
